It has been a long time, hasn't it? I have excuses galore. Mainly university, and writing. In that time, vale Mary Tamm, my favourite Romana, and brave heart to Janet Fielding. Cancer, leave Who alumni alone!

Anyway, here are some icons. It's been ages since I've done those too. I didn't intend them to be so David Collings-y, not that I'm complaining...

[001-046] Sapphire & Steel icons (Assignment Six)
[047-078] Press Gang icons (Head and Heart)
[079-102] Doctor Who icons (The Girl Who Waited)

Series five was some of the hardest things on television I've ever had to sit through, seeing Elisabeth Sladen so full of life and more beautiful than ever, knowing that this would be it, that Sarah Jane would be around no more. It was all leading up to the end of an iconic companion, and I almost didn't watch. It was still too raw, but I did it. I made the effort, and I'm so glad I did. Once again, the stories were top notch, and everyone was still as fantastic as normal. Mina Anwar, Ace Bhatti, Jocelyn Jee Esien, Floella Benjamin... the unsung heroes of The Sarah Jane Adventures who could hold their own up against Lis Sladen. I'm glad we had five extra series featuring Sarah Jane. As Katy Manning so rightly said, she was the quintessential Who girl, and I'm so grateful for RTD and BBC Wales for allowing a new generation to fall in love.

[01-32] - Sky
[33-62] - The Curse of Clyde Langer
[63-94] - The Man Who Never Was

I would like to welcome Jenna-Louise Coleman to the Doctor Who family. I'm very open minded about how her character will turn out, and it is Steven Moffat, I have the utmost faith in him. He did create the rather awesome Lynda Day, after all.

[001-026] - Prisoner of the Judoon                        [091-112] - The Eternity Trap
[027-050] - The Mad Woman in the Attic               [113-138] - Mona Lisa's Revenge
[051-090] - The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith       [139-162] - The Gift

I saw worlds beyond imagination, I went to places beyond my wildest dreams and met creatures beyond my darkest nightmares... and all of it was amazing... )

A side note, it has been nineteen years since Jacqueline Hill passed away. That makes me very sad.

[001-040] - The Last Sontaran            [093-122] - The Mark of the Berserker
[041-070] - Day of the Clown              [123-154] - The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith
[071-092] - Secrets of the Stars         [155-190] - Enemy of the Bane

I never knew you, I never had the chance, it was so unfair! )

It's no secret to anybody that I found The Sarah Jane Adventures the far superior spin-off of Doctor Who, in part due to it's almost Classic-Who feel, and in part to the outstanding performances given by everybody in the cast (especially Elisabeth Sladen, but that goes without saying...). Here is my tribute to that little series that managed to enthrall a generation, and gave them - and us - the gift of Elisabeth Sladen and Sarah Jane Smith...

[001-036] - Invasion of the Bane                [099-124] - Warriors of Kudlak
[037-068] - Revenge of the Slitheen           [125-154] - Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?
[069-098] - Eye of the Gorgon                   [155-188] - The Lost Boy

So, there’s part two of this large batch. The last of these should be posted soon. So, anyway. If you’ve liked any of these icons, feel free to take, but remember to follow these simple rules…

So, here it is. 2012. Let us hope that this year is a better one than the last. Just in case, we need to kidnap the surviving Who cast and wrap them up in cotton wool, just to keep them safe.

2012 looks to be an awesome year, however. More Hex from Big Finish, new Tom Baker adventures, and more Jago and Litefoot, which is rather amazing and features Oscar Wilde. What else could you want?

Anyway, I made these icons at the tail end of 2011. These are only some of a large batch, the rest of which will be posted at a later date.

[60] The Sarah Jane Adventures icons.
[48] Death Note icons.
[40] Dorian Gray icons.

Wow. Long time no post. I can't believe the last time I posted was just after the death of Elisabeth Sladen, which I'm still not over. I received my tribute edition of Doctor Who Magazine yesterday, and have been crying over the memories. The happy and the sad. Such a tragedy...

Anyway, the last seven months have been pretty uneventful, I just haven't had anything to post. But I do now. I rewatched The Trial of a Time Lord from start to finish last weekend. It was better than I remember. The wonderful model shot opening the episode, the performances of everybody involved, the always elegant Pussy Galore/Cathy Gale/Honor Blackman (delete as applicable), BRIAN BLESSED, warrior queen Joan Sims, Lynda Bellingham and Michael Jayson wearing silly hats... and Bonnie Langford. I don't get the Mel hate. I found her very likable in the two serials she was involved in... And the Vervoid/Human hybrid actually did creep me out. Just saying. Anyway, many, many icons. 220, to be exact.

[1-44] The Mysterious Planet
[45-92] Mindwarp
[93-160] Terror of the Vervoids
[161-220] The Ultimate Foe

A few days before Elisabeth Sladen's tragic, untimely death, I made icons for both The Time Warrior and Death of the Doctor. I've been deciding what to do with them. Post, or not. So I will post them, in memory of Elisabeth Sladen, and the character she brought to life so perfectly. Goodbye Lis.

[52] Doctor Who icons (The Time Warrior)
[80] The Sarah Jane Adventures icons (Death of the Doctor)

A tear, Sarah Jane? )

And again, rest in peace, Elisabeth Sladen.

Just a small tribute to Nicholas Courtney, who played Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart in Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures. A fantastic, charming, talented actor who will be sadly missed.
So I've made a few icons.

[1-17] Doctor Who: The Three Doctors
[18-38] Doctor Who: Inferno
[39-54] Doctor Who: Mawdryn Undead
[55-64] Doctor Who: Battlefield
[65-76] The Sarah Jane Adventures: Enemy of the Bane

So, I've been doing a LOT of screencapping over the last two weeks or so. Every episode of Press Gang, quite a few Doctor Who, Pride & Prejudice, Torchwood, ect. And guess what? I've made a whole lot of icons. Not very good, I'm afraid, but they're here.
Also, my NaNo entries going really well. When I started, it was a simple novel about teenagers and their relationships that was partially inspired by the masterpeice that is Press Gang. Now it's full of danger, undercover investigations that are almost camper than John Inman and a lot of romatic relationships, inspired by Press Gang. Ethel's still there though. And he's still as confused as ever.

Anyway, on to the icons!

[64] The Sarah Jane Adventures icons (Death of the Doctor)
[48] Press Gang icons (Shouldn't I Be Taller?)
[48] Pride & Prejudice [1995] icons
[36] Doctor Who [2005] icons (Silence in the Library)
[36] Doctor Who [1963] icons (Time and the Rani)
[32] Torchwood icons (Children of Earth)
[24] Sherlock icons (A Study in Pink)

[52] Press Gang - Page One
[44] New Who - Time Crash
[40] The Sarah Jane Adventures - Secrets of the Stars
[40] Absolutely Fabulous - Menopause

Yep, you read right, I've made another lot of Press Gang icons. I can't help it, the cast are all prettyful :P. I love doing things with Press Gang caps, as there are such vibrant colours, especially in the earlier seasons with Lynda's dorkdrobe cardigans and Sam's amazing hat and dress combinations.

A lot more after the cut! )
