~ What's your favourite season?
I love winter. There's just something about it that I love. Maybe it's the coldness, maybe because it's the season my birthday's in. I don't know, really, I've always just really loved winter.

~ What's the latest movie you watched?
I actually haven't been to the movies much lately, too much work to do. I have, however been watching many DVDs. The last movie I watched was Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet.

~ What is the one skill you wish you had?
I'd like to be a better cook, I guess.

~ What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Would it be too obvious to state Doctor Who? I'm also currently obsessed with Jane Austen adaptions, and songs by Regina Spektor.

~ What's your favorite musical instrument?
The piano.

~ What web sites do you always visit when you're online?
Back to the Bay, Twitter, Livejournal, Gallifrey Base

~ What was the last thing you bought?
Cranford and Return to Cranford on DVD. I love Judi Dench, and the series was awesome.

~ If you won 10.000 buck today, what would you do with it?
I have absolutely no idea.

~ Favourite time of day?
Mid afternoon to early evening, when I can just relax.

~ What's the last thing that made you cry?
Believe it or not, an episode of The Vicar of Dibley. The one with the Make Poverty History message.

~ Do you want to learn another language?
Yep. I learnt Italian at school, and want to continue some day. I'd also love to speak German. It sounds like such a fun language.

~ Five things you can't live without?
Friends, family, books, the BBC, movies

Yeah, I'm nowhere near as brilliant as Douglas Adams. But it gave me a good laugh.

Day 30 - Saddest character death

SIMM!MASTER IN 'LAST OF THE TIME LORDS'

Normally I don't feel upset when the villain of the piece dies, but The Master's death was heartbreaking, because of the Doctor. Just, David Tennant's acting, and John Simm to an extent. Just watch the clip, it speaks for itself, really.

THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES

As much as I love the parent show, Sarah's my current obsession. (Yes, I really should rename this meme 'Thirty Days of Doctor Who and Co.')

Day 27 - Best pilot episode

DOCTOR WHO: AN UNEARTHLY CHILD

It isn't technically 'the pilot', but it was the first episode that aired on television. The episode that started the longest running sci-fi drama in the history of television. The setup was great, and the characters also great. A fantastic start to a legendary television series.

Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)

HOPE SRPINGS

I'm a big fan of Alex Kingston (ER, Doctor Who, Lost In Austen... do I need to go on?), and I feel really bad for not having already watched this, but I keep putting it off. I don't know why, but I want to eventually ge around to watching it. It was hard choosing this one, and the other show I want to watch sometime this year is Andrew Davies' adaption of Bleak House.

Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season Series finale

GRANGE HILL: BANG

I love Grange Hill, and I was shocked when it was cancelled. But the final episode ever was just really WTF-ish. I mean, it just ended. After 30 years, it just ended. Nothing special, apart from Todd Carty showing up. Maybe some people like it this way, but I just think that after 30 years, Grange Hill should have went out with a bang with one of the big issue-based story the show was famous for.

Day 24 - Best quote

THE REST OF MY LIFE

It was really hard choosing a quote for this, because there are many really good ones, I though of Press Gang first though, because the dialouge is always fantastic and witty, and then I thought of the episode 'The Rest of My Life', because it was perhaps my favourite episode ever. There were a few quotes that really stood out for me, but the one (which is more of a scene, really :P) that I eventually chose was...

Lynda: Make it good. Give it some zap.
Sam: Some zap?! Am I getting this right? You want me to liven up an explosion?!
Lynda: I want you to give me the best work you’ve done Sam, and make it stick. This is our big chance to show what we can do!
Sam: Well that’s a new angle!
Lynda: What?
Sam: Gas leak, bomb or career opportunity. Lynda, there are people in that building!
Lynda: I know!
Sam: Do you? We’re talking about the dead and dying here, Lynda, and I’m supposed to put in ‘some zap’! How about I just do the obituary column in colour?

This really established the characters of Lynda and Sam. Lynda, the editor who will let nothing, not even tragedy, stand in her way of being the best she can, and Sam, whom one might see as a brainless bimbo, was a compassionate person who stood up for what she believed was morally right.

Day 21 - Favorite Ship

SID JENKINS AND CASSIE AINSWORTH

They're cute, they love each other and one of them's Hannah Murray. Need I go on?

Day 20 - Favorite kiss

THE DOCTOR AND DONNA

Not because it was 'the sexiest kiss ever', or the kiss that made me ship them (trust me, I don't). It's just that this kiss is hilarious, and actually managed to work as a plot point. Not like other Doctor/Companion kisses.

Day 19 - Best TV show cast

PRESS GANG

Press Gang had such a great cast. They had great chemistry, and gave resonably good performances, and you could tell they generally enjoyed working together. My favourite cast was in series two, with Julia Sawalha, Dexter Fletcher, Lee Ross, Kelda Holmes, Paul Reynolds and Gabrielle Anwar, featuring Angela Bruce, Nick Stringer and Clive Wood. Just because they were just awesome. I could have done without Kelda, but she was better in this series that any of the others.

K9 AND COMPANY

K9! That is all.

Day 17 - Favorite mini series

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

Perhaps the best adaption of a Jane Austen novel. What I like about this version is the chemistry each character has with one another, something the 2005 adaption lacked. Julia Sawalha was great as Lydia, no other actress has come close to Alison Steadman's portrayal as Mrs. Bennet, Benjamin Whithrow's Bennet was just amazing, and Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth ARE Lizzy Bennet and Mr. Darcy. Come to think of it, all the actors were brilliant, there wasn't a bad one! The only actress in the 2005 adaption I felt was better than the 1995 adaption was Carey Mulligan, who played Kitty.

Day 16 - Your guilty pleasure show

DANTE'S COVE

One review called it: 'campy, gothic, mysterious, homoerotic, and a bit silly'. What's not to love about that? It's got all the makings of a quality guilty pleasure show. Terrible, over the top acting and storylines, and lots of pretty people having sex with each other, in beds, in cellars, on beaches and in hell. As you do.

Yeah, quality guilty pleasure.

Day 15 - Favorite female character

CASSIE AINSWORTH FROM SKINS

She was so easy to sympathise with, and got the best lines. She was also played by Hannah Murray. I do not need to go on. Except to say 'Wow'.

Day 14 - Favorite male character

A great character, fun and interesting. Great portrayal by Mitch Hewer. It's a pity Maxxie didn't have more to do.

Day 13 - Favorite childhood show

DOCTOR WHO

I was born after the original series of Doctor Who ended, but both my mother and uncle were huge fans, so I grew up watching the VHS's. I remember K9 being my obsession at one stage, and the Daleks did frighten me. My Doctor was Four, and my companion was Romana II. Now I've grown up, I've seen a lot more Classic Who, and Six is my favourite, but Four will always have a place in my heart because he was my first Doctor.
