Day 17 - Favorite mini series

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE


Perhaps the best adaption of a Jane Austen novel. What I like about this version is the chemistry each character has with one another, something the 2005 adaption lacked. Julia Sawalha was great as Lydia, no other actress has come close to Alison Steadman's portrayal as Mrs. Bennet, Benjamin Whithrow's Bennet was just amazing, and Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth ARE Lizzy Bennet and Mr. Darcy. Come to think of it, all the actors were brilliant, there wasn't a bad one! The only actress in the 2005 adaption I felt was better than the 1995 adaption was Carey Mulligan, who played Kitty.

Great choice, but scrap the guilty bit - what's to feel guilty about in loving a well done BBC Classic drama? My guilty pleasure show is tacky and involves definite reason for guilt. This - this is just great, landmark TV!

And I'm kind of in love with Benjamin Whitrow as Mr Bennet. It feels almost as though he's been waiting his whole life to get the part!

It's meant to be 'Favorite mini series'. I forgot to change the topic up the top. My actual guilty pleasure show is very, very tacky :P. About as tacky as your guilty pleasure show :P.

I love Benjamin Whitrow as Mr. Bennet. He's just perfect. I love Donald Sutherland, and felt he gave a good performance in the 2005 adaption, he dodn't come close to Whitrow's incredible performance.
